since u are often mentioning shidduchim and sex related topics the first thought that popped into my mind was tht this topic was actually asking yeshiva kids and religious teens how they masturbate and being the curious me i thought that this may be amusing.
i kno u must be thinking this is extremely strange so i will justify my curiousity.
i remember back when i was hitting puberty and was still religious there would be quite a ceremony such as asking god for forgiveness or possibly covering all the seforim and anything else of spiritual value.
this is due to cognitive dissonance or the war in your head between the guilt and taboo nature of this act in a halachic world against the natural tendencies, urges and curiosity.
this is also common amongst smokers who contemplate the health risks against their addiction, or frummies who have spent their whole life studying torah but then meet my friend who convinces them that finds faults in jewish belief to the extent that the debate turning atheist but cannont face the fact that their entire life so far was wasted and untrue.
common ways of dealing with cognitive dissonace is by either going into a state of denial or just feeling guilt.
i have found that also one of my ex relgious (like me) went thru a similar phase as me but soon enough we both turned numb to it and later on lost faith all together.
